 IMF calls for help directly to the banks

International Monetary Fund urged the euro area to provide financial assistance directly to the banks that suffer from problems, and that instead of passing through the governments.
This came in a time when the French Finance Minister Pierre Moscovece that the Spanish request to obtain a loan from the euro zone to recapitalize the banks will be presented on Friday.
The committee said an independent review - in a report submitted to the Spanish government yesterday - that the national banks need to 62 billion euros (97 billion) to recapitalize.
